FNQ Yestayear Images - June 1992

Early June VH-OGA 763 dropped in on a tech stop wearing Australia Asia titles.  Australia Asia was named by Qantas to enable it to fly to both China's after the PRC objected to same title serving Taiwan (ROC) as well.  The service started this month SYD to TPE. Several other International carriers serving both China's also altered titles such as British Asia Aiways (BA) and KLM Asie for example on Taiwan services.  VH-OGA seen here on take off from rw15.

Freeport overnighted their executive B757 on the 12th en route from Timika to Honolulu.  N680FM seen here on tow and awaiting departure.

Prize visitor of the month was well travelled Grumman G21 Goose RP-C864 which stopped off en route Micronesia to Noosa.  This veteran recently flew in PNG with MBA and Palau Paradise Air of Koror during the past decade.  It now sports a respectable executive trim.

Sunstate introduced the Dash8-100srs on their Queensland services during the month.  Here VH-TNG is seen rotating off rw15 on the 16th.
Thanks to GAFLIKS for providing pictures and report.
