FNQ Yestayear Images - February 1993

OK Tedi started their own daily service to Tabubil from Cairns on Feb 1 under the Asia Pacific Airlines banner, using Beech 200 VH-APA, appropriately reg'd VH-APA. This service over from the Nationair EMB110/Beech200 that had been operating up to now. Interestingly this service is still being operated today between both ports, but now uses three Dash 8's.

Former Trans Niugini Air BN2 P2-IST was down for maintenance during the month, but has had titles removed. Seen here on 24th about to perform a post m'nance test flight.

Float equipped Nomad22 VH-BRQ visited on a charter to Orpheus Island on the 20th.

China Eastern's last service to Cairns

China Eastern Airlines began RPT services into Cairns on the 31/10/2012 and after a suspension of services during mid 2013 they re-commenced services again on 8/1/2014. During the initial re-commencement China Eastern wet leased a Shanghai Airlines B767-300.
